Christine & Andrew exchanged vows in Erdington abbey, an impressive 19th Century church in Sutton Coldfield, then celebrated the day at Moor Hall – they were looking forward to having some great backdrops in the venue’s ‘secret garden’ which had unfortunately suffered the elements from a particularly wet summer.

A big part of being a wedding photographer is being able to solve and overcome hiccups and bumps, I reassured them both that we would still be able to get some lovely portraits, finding some different angles I used what was available to create interesting foreground and scenic backdrops! (this is one of many crucial reasons why it is best to choose an experienced photographer to capture your day)

Amanda & Martin | Little Eaton | Derbyshire

Emotions always run high on a wedding day, a highlight of this line of work is capturing them and being part of that experience!

My favourite image is the embrace of bride & proud father following his speech, it was clearly a very emotional day giving his daughter away – its these moments that will be fondly looked back on in years to come!

Sara & Richard | Fishmore Hall | Shropshire

It was a joy to capture Sara & Richard’s day for them, Sara was so excited to be getting married – especially so at Fishmore Hall, a venue very close to the couples hearts.

Its always great to see different types of wedding traditions, on this occasion there was an Iranian blessing – conducted by Sara’s family making it even more special.

Here are my favourite images from the day, which was a lovely, intimate and relaxed celebration.

Rebecca & Howard | Paddington | London

It was great to have a quiet and chilled out wedding in the middle of bustling London, held on the Sunday of the Diamond Jubilee and as many will remember the weather was unfortunately not the best – this wasn’t a problem though as it was the perfect opportunity for Rebecca to break out the co-ordinated umbrella she had prepared!

As always I love to hear from couples after and its great to get happy responses, here’s what Rebecca & Howard had to say and some of my favourites from their day;

“My husband and I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful pictures you took at our wedding. You captured the very essence of the day, each time we look back at them the day itself comes rushing back to us. We couldn’t have asked for better pictures and we really liked the mix of black and white photos along with colour. Thank you just doesn’t seem enough for what you have created. We will definitely recommend you and silverton photography to everyone we know.”

Lucy & Scott | Castle Coombe | Wiltshire

‘Remember the date’. Well it would be difficult to forget for Lucy & Scott as their wedding fell on the weekend of the Queens Diamond Jubilee!

Their special day took place at the Castle Coombe Manor house in the picturesque cotswold village , which was adorned in flags and bunting and made for some simply fantastic backdrops!

The Venue is a favourite for me, it has some simply stunning grounds & gardens which provides amazing backdrops as you can see from some of my picks of the day here.

Lyndsey & Tony | Clearwell Castle | Gloucester

Set deep in the Forest of Dean Clearwell Castle is an award winning venue for weddings, it’s easy to see why!

Lyndsey and Tony’s wedding was a fantastic day, the couple were easy going which makes my task of capturing the day ‘as it happens’ all the more enjoyable

– I always say the more fun had both in front of and behind the camera the better the memories!

Here are a few of my favourites from the day.

Olivia & Kyle | Weston Park | Shropshire

Drawn swords and bouncy castles, not two words you often hear together and to go one further definitely not something you hear of at a wedding!

Well it was at Olivia & Kyle’s wedding at Weston Park (The grounds which hosts the V festival), Kyle knew there would be a carnival close by and was hoping for a jaunt on the dodgems, unfortunately there weren’t any to be found so instead the groom’s party decided it would be just as fun to try out the pink bouncy castle.

A lovely couple who found us at the National wedding show at the N.E.C, they loved the idea of my style of relaxed photos which was perfect for their amazing day!

Lisa & Craig | Shearsby Bath | Leicestershire

Lisa & Craig’s wedding at Shearsby Bath. Although late in the year the weather was simply stunning, it even held out for some great shots as the sun set!

It was a joy to photograph, a lovely couple with relaxed guests and a well planned day, I was left to capture images as if I were almost invisible.

Whilst planning for the day I had sent the usual short questionnaire form to the couple to fill in, I received it back with a whopping list of 60! (yes six-zero) group shots, after getting in touch with them we organised a much smaller list and on the day it all fitted in perfectly and helped the day to run as smooth as possible, to their delight – which goes to show the importance of some honest advice.

Here are some of my favourite photo’s of the day, in particular I love the moment one of the boys was testing how high he could jump – they were unaware of me watching them play as I caught the shot just as his head touched the other lads head resulting in an image fit for the magician’s circle! For me it’s these candid images that make the documentary style of wedding photography great.
